inilah hasil kerja Dr Sunshine sepanjang ai duduk sini. Semua barang-barang ni dia beli, survey dan etc. The kitchen tu, dia yang pasang the wall cabinet and the stainless steel fittings. i love you lah babe. you memang terrer bab-bab cari offer. :) cannot wait to go home!!

Dr Sunshine dah pi tempah our wardrobe. tingginya 9kaki. one side of the wall tu, panjang 5 kaki. lagi satu side of the wall tu,panjang dia 9 kaki. Cer teka berapa kos dia???

Kali ni, i nak sharing is caring pasal tempat beli lampu, kipas dan water heater paling murah di Klang Valley!!!

Sila pergi ya!! Memang murah sangat.

Mula-mula, we went there to beli lampu. This was when I was back last year. We bought a bunch of lights and 2 kipas jer. Harga kipas dia, memang murah berbanding dengan kedai lain yang we ols survey. Even the lights pon!! I saw the same light I bought for my living room dijual di Nilai 3 dengan 300% lebih mahal dari apa i beli kat houses lighting. the same lights!!! sama sejibik sejibun!!!

Anyway, a few weeks ago, Dr Sunshine started to cari storage water heater plak. He went to a lot of shops. We have decided to intall Joven storage water heater. Maka, dia dok compare-compare la prize kan. Kedai joven sendiri, mak aii...mahal uols! So, i cakap la kat Dr Sunshine, cer check kat Houses Lighting, ada jual tak storage water heater. Cos the last time I went, I nampak that water heater biasa tu ada. So Dr Sunshine pon pergila. Dan...harga yang dijual di sana almost 40% less that harga kat kedai lain!!!

Maka, Dr Sunshine akan ke sana lagi sekali untuk memborong lampu, kipas dan juga water heater. hehe.

So, if you all are in the midst of buat rumah and etc, do visit this shop. Memanglah, macam jauh sikit kan. Tapi berbaloi baloi!!

lately, my skype sessions with dr Sunshine will be filled with talks about our house. He has been surveying harga furniture, curtain, water heater dan sebagainya. And, masa dia dok survey-survey furniture tu, dia tengoklah jugak wardrobe. haa...ni la yang i nak sharing-is-caring-kan today!!!

you see, in our master bedroom, there is a space for a walk in wardrobe. saiznya lebih kurang 7ft x 9 ft. I have been dreaming of doing a built in wardrobe to fill up the space, tapi banyak yang mahal uols!!! Tapi, masa dr Sunshine pergi survey furnitures tu, dia nampak la wardrobe kan. And he suggested to me, why not kita beli like 2 wardrobes and put it next to each other, so nampak macam ala-ala walk in la kan. i was like..errr...

pastu, on another one of his surveys, dia jumpa wardrobe yang L shape!!! wah..menariknyer. Jadi dia pon tanya la tokei kedai tu, cemana depa jual wardrobe tu. Tokei tu kata la, well the wardrobe comes in a few sizes, and you can pilih what you want to put inside. We just give the measurements, and they will pasangkan at our house. Well, bunyi macam buat built in wardrobe jugak kan?? well ya!!! memang macam buat walk in wardrobe. EXCEPT, untuk deal macam ni, kita yang kena ukur sendiri ruang tu! No one will come to our house and ukur2 exactly how big the space is.

BUT, the quote which the tokei gave is way cheaper than getting a built in wardrobe, in which orang datang ukur kat rumah tu!!! untuk L shape wardrobe (satu side tu 7 ft, satu side tu lagi 9ft dan tinggi 9 ft), will cost us less than 5K. And, dia guna solid wood, not melamine atau chip wood.

Actually, I rasa harga ni murah lah. Sebab, I have been surveying on the net and rata-rate dorang quote between 330 above untuk 1 feet (tu paling murah i jumpa on the net for built in wardrobe). Bila kira untuk size yang ai nak, it is more than 5K.

So, I rasa, this ukur sendiri wardrobe adalah seswai untuk sesiapa yang mengimpikan built in wardrobe, tetapi is on a budget. You still get to pick how your inside looks like, the type of pintu you want and etc.

Cer try!!! Dr Sunshine is going to ukur the room again and will book the wardrobe soon.

p.s: The bunk bed we bought has arrived!!! Next is to beli curtain and kipas and the boys' room will be almost complete.

kabinet dapur

Dr Sunshine kata, hal-hal berkaitan kabinet dapur adalah within my jurisdiction. Tapi, mak kan konsep surrendered wife gittew. So bila nak buat keputusan tu, tetaplah depends on suami. Cuma ai akan bagitahu siap2 apa yang berkenan di hati.

So anyway, semalam, we went to Puchong (again!). Tahu tak, kat sana banyak gila kedai berkaitan barang-barang rumah ni!!! We went to this row of shop lots (bagi sesiapa yang tahu Puchong, its the shop lots dekat dgn Pelita). At that area itself, ada 4 kedai company yang buat kitchen cabinet and ada 2 kedai jual2 appliances (and sesiapa nak beli barang baby, fabulous mom is there as well!!)

setelah tengok2 kitchen sink, kami berkenan dengan sink ni. Its currently on sale but we decided to check out other places as well. Yang penting,we ols nak sink yang depth dia at least 9 inch.

lepas tu, we went to kedai kitchen cabinet. The price they quote for solid counter top adalah agak mahal kot (cos i think i have seen iklan yang menawarkan harga yang lebih kompetitif) but at least bila dah pergi kedai tu, dapat la ai imagine cemana rupa acrylic, melamine and etc. And dapat juga la sort of idea how we are going to do our wet kitchen. FYI, i plan to have a small kitchen saje sebab i know tahap 'kerajinan' i nak mop and sental kitchen. hihi. But, we decided to jadikan the maid's room our pantry simpan makanan kering and even put our fridge there.

And, we decided to get a freestanding stove/oven instead of a built in punye. Tapi selitkan in between kitchen cabinet tu, to get a built in look. Stove idaman:

I am thinking of painting the walls in the kitchen as well...something bright tapi tak bincang lagi dgn boss.

Anyway, cannot wait to survey2 lagi hal2 kitchen ni. Its so exciting even to google pasal kitchen sampai tergendala kerja2 baca artikel ni!!!

pintu pertahanan

Last Saturday, the boys and I pergi ke puching dengan nawaitu nak beli stroller Aaron. Lepas tu, Dr Sunshine ajak pi Kelang untuk purchase security door.

You see, Dr Sunshine and I dah lama dah cari security door ni (actually Dr Sunshine yang beria, i just ikut ajo). Dari home fair apetah kat midvall, sampai lah ke klang and ampang we ols merantau cari pintu ni. Tapi masa tengah cari ni, punyelah payah nak jumpa kedai jual security door!! (bila dah bayar booking fee, tetiba menjelma pulak kedai2 pintu ni! *geram*)

Anyhoo, masa pi Puchong tu, tiba-tiba my eyes saw kedai pintu masa tengah buat u-turn at some godforsaken place. Terus bgtahu Dr Sunshine and zass ke sana. Unfortunately, pilihan pintu macam non-ado so Dr Sunshine kata, kita pi Kelang kat kedai haritu je lah. Honestly, ai tak berapa berkenan dengan pintu yg dijual di Kelang itu. Its a steel door, powder coated, and 2 layers with secured hinges and also multiple locks (tepi, atas, and bawah). Tapi entah mengapa, hatiku kureng berkenan. Cuma pilihan pintu ittew memenuhi budget kami yang tak seberapa, thats why la nak pi sana gak kan.

Namun demikian, masa dah park kat kedai jual stroller tu, mataku ternampak kedai pintu, right next to the kedai stroller. Oh...adakah ini meant to be? So, kami masuk kedai pintu tu, and memang banyak giller choices dia (compared to kedai in Kelang) and most importantly, pintu yang i berkenan (which i saw first at the fair in midval) was there at a MUCH CHEAPER price!!!!!! Tapi, lepas dah tengok-tengok and berkenan kat satu pintu idaman tu, kami buat jual2 mahal and pi dulu kedai stroller, beli stroller. Pastu, lepas dah beli stroller, Dr Sunshine kata, ingat nak bayar booking fee terus la for the door. And i pon cakap, ok je. Because price wise memang sangat-sangat within our meagre budget and i like the door!!

The door we chose adalah seperti design di atas. It looks macam made of wood but is actually made of steel. Its got secured and hidden hinges, multiple locks, susah nak pry, fire proof and other security features which I cannot remember. So we paid the deposit and they will order the door. It will take about two weeks for them to install the door. Tapi kan, tapi my contractor tak mula pon lagi kerja. Dahla nak bulan puasa. Mak stress okeh!!! Whatever it is, I hope they will start work soon and finish before i balik. They better, ok!!!

Lepas ni, projek lampu and kipas pulak. Cannot wait!!!

pengeluaran wang kwsp untuk membayar baki pinjaman rumah

today is day 26 post op and since Dr Sunshine cuti, we decided to pergi kwsp to uruskan pasal pengeluaran duit untuk bayar pinjaman rumah.

word of advice, the first thing u should buat is, make sure u pergi ke bank yang u buat pinjaman tu, and request for a statement of berapa baki pinjaman. make sure u mention u minta tu because nak kluarkan duit kwsp because there is a certain format for the document, which the bank has to follow. The reason i suruh pi bank dulu because it can take between 2 weeks and 1 month for them to prepare the document. sangat menguji kesabaran!!! Oh, the bank will charge you for the documents. Mine (Affin) charged me rm20 for a copy. Just request for a copy because should u and your spouse need to make the withdrawal kat KWSP (and because each person has to sumbit their own set), just fotostat aje document tu, kwsp terima ajer!

Lepas tu, you can start isi borang ( with black pen sahaja) which i think can be downloaded from kwsp punye website (if u know ur pin number). Its borang 9c (AHL) (8d).Tapi ai old skool padahal sebab tak tahu pin number and pergi sendiri ke pejabat kwsp to take the borang and also to check how much is my baki.

Lepas dah dapat bank statement ittew, bolehlah bersama2 suami (if u bought the hse togede-gede and nk kurangkan baki togede gede) ke kwsp untuk mensubmit borang. Stuff u need:

a. ur form

b. a copy of your ic (fotostat depan belakang on the same page)

c.the bank statement thingy

Senang kan? So, inshaAllah, begining next month the money we allocate each month for our house installment can be channeled to our reno plans. Tak banyak sangat pon, but at least adalah something.

Tak sabar tunggu projek next month. Kitchen sink, lampu dan kipas. :)

oh..duit yg kita mohom keluarkan tu will be credited terus ke bank in 2 weeks.Nanti uols akan dapat surat penyata ittew.

And, you are allowed to make the pengeluaran every year. We ols ingat nak keluarkan every three years, just to kurangkan debts cepat2. ihiks. Yela noks. Pinjam sikit. Tapi nak bayar balik, bila dah kena interest tu, mak aii....berpinau jap tengok baki. uhuk.

budget untuk ubahsuai rumah

I tell you, hal-hal nak ubahsuai rumah ni, memang memakan duit! At times like this, I wish I had loads of it supaya boleh buat macam-macam. But, apa kan daya, budget adalah amat limited, maka kena make do dengan apa yang ada.

So, dah 2 quotation yang kami dapat. One tu, cheaper than the other. So, we might go with that one. Tetapi, sungguhpon cheaper, tetap melebihi budget yang ditetapkan.

Anyway, we have decided to buat our house reno according to a few phases memandangkan budget ciput.

Phase 1: Kitchen extension and grill
Phase 2: Plaster ceiling and purchase fan and lights and kitchen sink
Phase 3: Book stove and book kitchen cabinet (to lock harga sebab dari pembacaan blog-blog, bayar deposit je dulu to get the promo price, then bila-bila kita nak boleh install.)
Phase 4: Get curtains
Phase 5: Hot water storage, furniture and water filter
Phase 6: Air cond and exterminator

The 6 phases would be stretched out until next year (atau until cukup duit to complete each phase). As for our lawn, Dr Sunshine plans to do it himself. Dia dah beli pon racun to spray dekat the lawn to kill all the rumput liar dan bushed.

Anyway, memandangkan budget burst for Phase 1, we might have to buat kitchen extension je dulu, and the grill later.

Whatever it is, I am super excited.

Oh, pasal kumpul duit tu, we ol memang ada buka account to put our money for house related purposes. So, each month, we contribute a fixed and equal amount to the account. We only started this in October last year. We plan to continue doing it, even if our reno is completed sebab duit tu nanti boleh lah guna untuk tambah-tambah apa yang patut kan. But as of now, duit tu memang for renovation purposes (oh...and also to bayar cukai pintu and insurans rumah).

InsyaAllah, we plan to withdraw our kwsp to help pay our house installments supaya duit yang dah allocate untuk house installments tu boleh guna pulak untuk bayar renovation stuff.

Tapikan, katalah uols memang dah ada budget untuk bayar renovation, atau pun dah siap buat renovation pon, I rasa elok juga keluarkan duit tu utk bayar house installement supaya dapat kurangkan jumlah interest, which indirectly akan kurangkan the total amount you have to pay. This is how you do it. Even though dah keluarkan epf utk bayar installment, you still continue to bayar every month, macam biasa. That way, you can save a lot on you housing loan interest. My sister and her husband has been doing that (dah 3 kali withdraw from epf) and sekarang dorg tinggal less than 30K je to pay off. And, ni semua dalam masa 10 tahun je uols!


p.s: Dr Sunshine tanya AD, nak lampu macam mana for bilik. Anak mak low maintanence uols! Dia kata nak lampu yang panjang tu, and cahaya yang putih-putih which is, in other words, lampu kalimantang. ihiks.

esok exam

Esok exam. Pagi tadi dah bertungkus lumus ulangkaji pelajaran. Tengah hari, balik rumah dan langsung tak jengok buku. Apalah nak jadi dengan awak ni wahai ibu mengandung???

Kenapa ai tak bukak buku? Selain sebab skype dengan keluarga (padahal Dr Sunshine steady je buat case write up dia, ai je yang sibuk surf internet..hehe) ai cari info pasal nak keluarkan duit dari akaun 2 kwsp untuk bayar installment rumah.

You see, ai dengan Dr Sunshine kan tengah plan nak renovate rumah secara kecil-kecilan. Well, actually we are just going to extend kat bahagian wet kitchen sket, pasang grill, buat KC and wardrobe and beli lampu, kipas dan aircond dan furniture (if not, bentang tikar je la yek), buat attic, buat curtain. Nampak je macam ciput tapi duit yang diperlukan adalah BANYAK nak mampus .

Maka, we decided to do the renovations by several phases with the extension being the first phase. Dan benda-benda seterusnya tu will follow once dah cukup duit. We have actually opened another bank account to keep our monthly allocation for the house. Ala-ala tabung la untuk kerja-kerja buat rumah ni. We ols bukak account ni since October last year. Jumlah dalam akaun tu, tak de lah banyak mana pon, tapi mungkin cukuplah untuk setakat buat simple extension kat belakang tu.

Tapi, tiba-tiba ai teringat that I pernah baca kat blog sapetah, yang dia keluarkan duit dari kwsp dia untuk bayar monthly installment, and duit yang dia dah dah allocate for monthly installment tu, dia save (ai tak ingatlah dia save kat mana).

So, I was thinking, what if both Dr Sunshine and I keluarkan duit from our account 2 tu, and then the money yang memang we allocate to pay the monthly installment tu bolehlah disalurkan kepada tabung kerja-kerja buat rumah? Then, bolehlah we ols expedite the renovation process. Mungkin tak de lah nak cepat mana pon, tapi at least cepat sikit la kot dari our current plan.

Jadi, balik nanti, I nak uruskan hal-hal ni. Hopefully the plan works! So bolehlah extend dan buat grill at the same time, insyaAllah. Pastu kena gigih kumpul duit balik untuk projek-projek seterusnya. :)
