hobi

apakah hobi anda?

masa kecik-kecik, selalu prektis untuk ujian lisan in case keluar topik pasal hobi ni. so dah siap-siap pre-decide that my hobi is membaca dan bermain piano.

part membaca tu, ye...bukan sahaja hobby malah boleh dikatakan sebagai OBSESSION. part main piano tu..errr

i loved reading since Along bought me my first Enid Blyton: Granny's Bad Apple and other stories. ye...saya masih ingat tajuknye. i think i was about 9 years old. since then on, i never looked back! I cherish library time and would scour for books. i would ask and beg my daddy to bring me to bookshops. i remember feeling SUPER happy to find a second hand bookshop at Sarawak Plaza. Oh, how i would devour those books. tapi, i only liked reading enid blyton (all the series..mallory towers, the naughtiest girl, wishing chair, secret 7, five find outers, the adventure series, faraway tree..oh..i lupa nama lagi satu boarding skool series tu), nancy drew, hardy boys. BM ke, BI ke, semua i taram! i also loved the choose your own adventure books..the one where you flip the page to page xx if you chose to do this or that.

then, at one point, daddy said he would only buy me books during school holidays. sigh. i guess books were like my toys. ye..perlu diberitahu, my parents hardly bought me any toys. i had to use my imagination. i NEVER had a barbie doll(oh..tapi ada sekali tu one of daddy's friend bagi something like barbie)...but daddy did buy me my first set of legos when i was 7.

now that i am working dan start belajar balik, i hardly have time to read for pure leisure. sigh. the last time i really read was when i was hospitalised. best sangat (reading i mean, not hospitalised)!!

anyhoo, sesetengah orang kata hobi dia mengumpul setem. aci tak if i plak kata, hobby i mengumpul barang-barang dapur?? teeheehee

unexplainable

Right now, one of my bestest friend is in the ICU, fighting for her life.

Because of a bleeding she had after her scheduled c-section today, she had to endure a 6 hour operation to save her uterus.

She is now stable in the ICU but i still feel uneasy, at least until she is released to the normal ward.

So, if you have the time, tolong doakan untuk Mek Lah.

To Mek Lah, i know you wouldnt be reading this but nak jugak tulis yang i know that you are a very strong willed person and that you can get through this. *hugs*

saya nak bercuti ke langkawi sebab sambil-sambil tu fenfeeling nak beli barang dapur (termasuk kuali yg diwar-warkan best untuk goreng ikan tueh).

saya rasa mcm nak mintak persetujuan Dr Sunshine to start working on the boy's playroom/attic (read: cari contractor). mcm best jer! lagipon i'll be around, so if nak scout for bahan mentah sendiri pon, mak sanggup round cari!!jadi sesiapa kenal conractor yg best, sila tinggalkan mesej. :)

AD's first concert was yesterday. Dr Sunshine said he was the only one who joget throughout the performance. hihihi...along kata, he joget even furiously when he heard along called his name out. comel or what? cant wait to watch the dvd!

when is the right age to start AD with tennis?

Am thinking of sending the boys for swimming classes. so, need to buy swimming suit and i just saw some cute ones at h&m! *matila justifikasi sebab nak shopping

today, i finally started my pinggan mangkuk collection.

went to znojmo (err...tak pasti ejaan) in czech republic (tu pon sebab ada orang ajak pi naik keta).when i decided to follow to go for that trip, niat just nak beli that sugar/creamer crystal set and balang kuih cantik.

little did i know, tujuan pegi bandar kecik znomo itu adalah untuk berkunjung ke kedai handmade pottery yg diimport khas dari poland.

setelah tawaf kedai kecik tu berkali-kali (sebab rambang mata tengok byk design), i decided to pick 1 caserole dish and 1 serving dish. i didnt get it in the same design. i know some people akan kumpul satu design sajor, dari serving dish sampailaa ke teacups, pinggan makan dan etc. but, i dont plan to buy the whole complete set...ingat next round nak beli lagi satu caserole dish and maybe an oval serving plate/dish. oh...hajat di hati, nak beli teapot with that warmer thingy and 6 cups and saucers plak next time. pastu, tak yah dah nak pi kedai ittew. maknanya kena pegi lagi 2 kali la tu

nak ambik gambar, tapi since the tuan kedai dah pack nicely dengan bubble wrap bagai, susah lah kan. jadi, u ols can jamu mata at www.elimashop.cz. pattern serving plate saya adalah 0743-0X dan caserole dish adalah 0884-0X.

then, they brought me to kedai kristal and i bought that sugar/creamer set (which was my main sebab pi sana kan!). didn't manage to find any bekas kuih yg menariks.

am going to the fleamarket this saturday. i hope to find some great stuff!!

p/s: esok nak pi beli tefal gc3001 compact griller. weeeeeee!!!!

ambitiouskah?

met the sv today. i think the way he supervises is not what i expected a supervision would be like. haha..

i always thought, masa meeting, we will discuss my plans, talk at length about any ideas we might have, or at least he will read what i have prepared and we go through the ideas together.

tapi, sesungguhnya walaupun saya baru bertemu encik SV 2 kali, it doesnt go that way. i think perhaps its because, we (read:ALL students under his supervision) could only meet him during his sprachstunde, which is only on monday, for about 2 hours. so, bayangkan, dalam masa 2 jam tu, kitaorang dok beratuq nak jumpa dia..so dia tak leh afford to spend so much time with each of us.

anyhoo, i was hoping we could discuss on the methods i plan to undertake, tapi harapan ittew tinggal harapan sajor u ols! *nanges*

i will have to make another appointment in 2 weeks to see him (cos he will be outstation lagik next week, gi chile katanye..eh...ke gi mana ek?) to discuss my methods and proposed research yg belum diberikan feedback. wlbgmanapun, i guess he agreed with my topic,sebab dia nak sign the thesis agreement.

ok....what should i do dalam 2 minggu ni?nak beli tiket balik...cannot.

hmm...i guess its back to the library...now kena rajin collect articles for lit review. library iols, walaupun diakatakan mempunyai katalog terbesar di kalangan german speaking countries (i think),ejournals punye archive CANNOT be accessed from home or anywhere outside the uni. so yes...looks like i will be camping at the library with orang tua serabai.

sekarang ni, truthfully, i risau...takut i ni terover la kan. yela...tadi, masa jumpa SV, i handed him my proposal (again) and he read it sekali imbas and said "i dah penah baca dah ni" and i said..memanglah..i dah bagi you lama daahhh..tapi you tak de bg feedback kat i pown, so i tak tau la ok ke, tak ok ke..how?

dia pon kata, hmmm...dah lama i baca..so i ingat lite lite jer.biar i baca lagi skali ek.

pastu, i terus bgtau, i dah ada plan dah for my method and handed him a typewritten plan of the proposed methodology (seb baik mak type and print ok!). and mintak dia tlg baca, n mb comment sket.

pastu, i tanye, bila plak kita bleh dating lagi? dia kata next week pi outstation..so its the week after. i hope everything will turn out well. I HOPE! i hope he will have time to read all the stuff i gave him.

ishh...saya geram bagi pihak mereka-mereka yang selalu dibuli!

i tell you, ada seorang minah ni, yg dah berumur 33 tahun. nampak jer macam baik, tapi pada hakikatnya, kaki buli!

cerita dia macam ni.dia datang untuk buat post-doc di buda.pest.tetapi, di budpst tu, dia non-ado kawan (i so know why la kan dengan perangai busuk macam tu!), jadi hampir setiap minggu dia akan menjejakkan kaki ke wien.

okla...fine you are lonely and nak ada kawan, so datang sini, kan? tapi, dia ni, seorang yg mempunyai strategi yg baik. sebelum dia ke budpst, maknanya semasa dia masih di malaysia, dia telah meng-addkan,Vee on fb, who is my friend, who is doing her PhD kat sini. neway, Vee and this person which we shall call Busook (bukan nama sebenar), has known each other for quite a while. masa Vee buat undergrad, Busook tengah buat PhD. tapi si Vee ni is a brilliant lady. so much so, altho she was merely doing her undergrad, she was always talked about by her professors. so, Busook yg busuk hati ni, terus ala-ala jeles dgn si Vee ni.

So, nak dijadikan cerita, dari tahun lepas, Vee ada request nak add si Busook as a friend kat fb. tapi request ittew TIDAK dilayan. tiba2, pada penghujung bulan Mac, si Busook out of nowhere add si Vee nieh. dan berkawanlah mereka di fb.

rupa-rupanya, si Busook ada niat tersembunyi. sebabnye, motiff dia add adalah sebab nak slalu tumpang tido kat rumah Vee masa dia datang ke Wien (which is almost every weekend). pastu, perangai dia ni, dia tak kan reply messages kita on fb/ym/im if dia tak de benda yang dimahukan dari kite. so, kita mesej la bertubi-tubi, jangan harap ada reply. tapi...haa...bila tiba dia nak mintak something dari kita, dengan lemah gemalai, lembut hati dan berbudi bahasa, reti plak nak bg mesej kat kita. hmphh...

pastu, kalu dah dtg almost every week tu, sure dah reti kan how to take public transport to rumah Vee. ni taaakk..nak gak berjemput bagai.Ingat ko tu ratu kah?

pastu, yg tak tahan...nak datang, boleh demand..."I datang ni, you masak ayam goreng ye, cos i nak makan". boleh?pleasela..its not like ko tu besfren vee nak demand2 makan benda ni benda tu. dahla tu, tido rumah orang, buat perangai macam dia tu mem besar!

pastu, dah tido rumah orang, bila nk balik rumah sendiri, boleh mintak kentang, nak bawak balik! come on laa..potatoes are freaking cheap ok at this side of the world.hishhh!!!

tau tak kenapa geram? because, this person gets a monthly allowance of about 2k++euros. and..to think that dia mintak makanan dari budak yg dapat 1Keuro sahaja sebulan!!!!! sebab apa tau? sebab nak jimat duit nak beli rumah, u ols!!!

harta tu, kalau dah mati, bukan bleh bawak masuk kubur pown!!!! geram ok. ada lagi benda yg si Busook ni buat, tapi mak tak bleh nak cerita kat sini.

yg penting u ols, dont be AFRAID to stand up for yourself. don't be bullied by orang-orang tak guna macam ni! berbuih mulut mak nasihatkan Vee suh stand up for her rights and today u ols...she is going to do it. I hope she will be OK.

sikit-sikit lama-lama jadi bukit

haihh...dengan semangat membara, i have been camping at the library for the past few days. I will usually prepare lunch and mandikan AA and tunggu zohor, pastu zasssss ke uni library. So far, i have managed to basically type out the stuff i highlighted kat paper dan artikel-artikel yang telah dibaca. sebab kan, i feel that i read, but then, i don't do anything about it. i mean, yes...i find stuff which i can use for my research, tapi takat tu jer la.

So, dengan semangat waja (have to angkat bakul sendiri.hihihih), i thought, why not type out all those facts that i think is important? So thats what I did. So far, so good. My next step is to categorize what i typed according to recurring themes, mcm globalisation, cultural proximity, homogenization. Pastu, I plan to write or in other words, re-hash (mm...can still remember Che Bots asking me to rehash a story..wakakakak) the stuff with inputs from moi. ihiks.

I have also arranged for an appointment with my dear SV for next monday at 4pm. *nervous*. Oleh itu, i have neatly typed out (dah type sure la neat kan?? ihiks) things i plan to do for my content analysis. Ada lagi beberapa hal belum settle which is the synopsis of the tv programs i plan to analyse but thats al my fault cos i totally forgot to save the statistics of top programs in my pendrive. yg mak absolutely sure is that top programs for malays adalah buletin utama n sure heboh. talk about a different genre kan? Selain itu, i nak cari gambar traditional costumes kat malaysia nieh. And also must type out my coding sheet. Pc kat library is in Deutsch so i cannot figure out how to change the layout of the a4 paper to vertical. Stuffs seperti soalan utk fgd dan juga the ethics code thingy masih belum dilakukan. Hmm..should pay a visit to the grad center esok to find out.

What else? I have just listed down a few stuff which I plan to write on in my thesis, and hope to talk about it to my SV.

hmm...i hope everything goes well. I really really want to siapkan this methods thing before i meet my SV so that we can go through it and make corrections and selepas itu, bolehlah mak buat pembetulan and show him again the final stuff. sebab apa tau? sebab i plan to go home early June!! weeeeeee..*lompat lompat*

masa balik ittew, bolehlah i buat research sikit2, kan? also need to find a lot of stuff for lit review. speaking of which, if methods stuff habis by tomorrow, i should start looking for more journal articles and savekan sebab my uni punye e-journals database is not accessible from outside the uni! sangat tak best becos this means i cannot access the journals when i am back in mesia.

hoh. banyak betul cerita pasal keje. i hope i can do this!!!

ps: i hate it that some people think that their field of studies is harder than mine! You think its easy ke buat communication nieh?
p.ps:orang tua serabai is also camping at the library!
